With Detroit (3-2) on a bye in Week 6, fans and media got to enjoy plenty of scoreboard watching elsewhere. Unfortunately for Lions fans, both of the two NFC North teams in action—the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers—picked up Week 6 victories.
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams made his return to play after a three-week injury absence, passing for 305 yards and a touchdown. Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for 276 yards and a touchdown pass to Matthew Golden. Golden finished with six grabs for 104 yards to lead Green Bay.
With those results, the Lions are currently in last place in the NFC North standings, though they sit just a half game behind both the Bears and Packers.
Elsewhere, the Arizona Cardinals made the Lions' most recent win
look a lot better. The Cardinals downed the preseason darling Los Angeles Rams, 18-16, with a walk-off, 43-yard field goal from Chad Ryland.
As Detroit's bye week concludes, here's some of the best social media reactions from Lions fans and media to this weekend's NFL action:
no Lions football today 😢

We all know the Detroit Lions should be favorites to win the NFC North https://t.co/c8Bd04PhIs pic.twitter.com/qH8lGxSLaI

The Cardinals housed the Rams & put up 30+ in a one-score loss to San Francisco.

I know we all wanted to dismiss it as nothing … but does the Lions 30-point road win in Arizona now count? At least a little?
Hard to keep up with NFL Narrative World!
I don't understand the "the Lions beat up on a bad team last week so so what" crowd. Every single win in the NFL is a good win. pic.twitter.com/cwa6JVWMNO

And the national media wants to sh*% on the #Lions? 😂😂😂

The #Rams just lost to the #Cardinals.
Detroit waxed them a week ago. Spare me.
#Lions watching from home on their bye week in Week 6 and it's not been a good early window at all ⬇️

NFC North teams with a winning record: 4
Other NFC teams with a winning record: 3 (and one is the Giants)
The Lions match up well against the Packers imo. Stop the run & get pressure on Love, preferably with 4-man rushes. Their OL is still terrible.

Their defense is also pretty beat up. If we can establish the run & finish in the red zone Green Bay’s offense will need to be close to…
Unfortunately for us Jayden Daniels peaked in the playoffs against Detroit. Been a really tough watch ever since. Some of the worst end-of-game management you’ll see at the QB position the last few weeks.

NFC East made history, going two straight weeks without a win. https://t.co/xMtbduIJio
