What is the story about?
After
earning their first win last week, the Miami Dolphins returned hom in Week 8 for an AFC East showdown with the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium and walked out with a 24-19 loss.
This game dropped the Dolphins to a 1-6 record and keeps them within one game of the top pick in the 2027 NFL draft. They're also just one win away from third place in the division.
As we continue to work our way through this loss, let's take a look at Miami's offensive and defensive snap count from Week 8.
Offense
- Random thought, but the Dolphins ran the exact same number of offensive plays in Week 7 and Week 8.
- Kingston filled in for Kadyn Proctor at left guard and played every single snap.
- Douglas saw an increase in snaps (from 44 to 56). Bell also also saw a jump in his action (from 31 to 45).
- Miami had been using Caedan Wallace as an extra offensive lineman at time, but he didn't play a single snap on Sunday.
Defense
- Gay returned from his illness and played 27 snaps, which is two fewer than Jackson Woodard played in his place last week.
- Louis got snaps on defense (11) for the first time since Week 1 (3).
- Anderson dropped from 14 snaps last week to just one in Week 8. Last week, he did fill in during injuries, so that's probably the main reason for the drop back.
