The Miami Dolphins brought their veterans back to the building on Tuesday and started training camp the following day. Head coach Jeff Hafley ran sessions through Friday with differing levels of activity and intensity.
Now, the Dolphins have a day off on Saturday before getting back to work on Sunday at their Baptist Health Training Complex with fans in attendance for the first time.
For now, let's look back at the first week of practices and check the stocks of a few players based on reports from the beat writers on the scene in Miami Gardens.
Stock up: LB Chop Robinson
Robinson came into camp in great shape, and on Day 2, he stood out the most, putting together a stat sheet that included a would-be sack, some run stuffs and a fumble recovery. He needs to stack days consistently
and perform once the lights are on this year if he wants to earn a big contract in the near future.
Stock down: WR Tutu Atwell
Atwell is one of the veterans that the team signed this offseason after they moved on from Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. While Atwell was expected to be one of Miami's top wideouts, he's shown a real problem with dropping the ball early in camp. With a lot of young competition in the room, he could find himself on the bench or worse.
Stock up: WR Caleb Douglas
Douglas, the first of three wide receivers that the Dolphins took in the 2026 NFL draft, has dropped a couple passes himself, but he stood out on Friday. In the final session of the week, he made multiple impressive plays, including a one-handed grab for a touchdown. If he stands out, he could be Malik Willis' top weapon.
Stock down: QB Quinn Ewers
Willis hasn't been overly impressive, which might've given Ewers an opportunity to prove that he should start for this team in Week 1. However, Ewers hasn't excelled either early on. On Day 1, he was intercepted by his former college teammate Michael Taafe and had two passes broken up as well. According to some reports, he completed just 33% of his passes on Day 2. He didn't get a ton of work on Day 3, but he might've been sacked on a play that went for a touchdown if the play had been live.
Stock up: DB Michael Taaffe
Miami took Taaffe in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL draft out of Texas. While he entered camp as a guy who most expected to be a depth defender and special teams contributor, he's flashed a bit in his defensive opportunities. In a thin room, these efforts early on could help him earn a starting role in the secondary.
