The 2026 NFL season in nearly haflway through, which means we're right in the middle of the fantasy football season as well. With each week that passes, these games mean more as the playoffs are rapidly approaching.
As we head into Week 8, there are several key players across the league battling injuries as well as four teams who are off with a bye week. This means fantasy owners have to pay attention to the waiver wire and see who they can scoop up to help going forward.
Here are a few players for owners to target this week.
QB Sam Darnold 30.9%
Darnold haasn't been his best so far this year, as he's completed just 53.4% of his passes (23rd) for 1,290 yards (20th) with eight touchdowns (tied for 19th) and eight interceptions (tied for 31st). Playing the Bears in Week
8 might be just what Darnold needs to get back on track.
RB Jonah Coleman (24.2%)
Coleman returned from injured reserve last week and got some decent usage (nine rushes for 54 yards and two receptions for another 15). While Coleman shares a crowded backfield with J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, the 23-year-old rookie might be able to separate himself from the other two.
WR Omar Cooper Jr. (34.8%)
Cooper beckame this first Jets receiver in franchise history to have back-to-back games with 100 yards and a touchdown after doing so against the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins these last two weeks. While Garrett Wilson is still the center of attention in New York's receiver room, the 2026 first-round pick is coming on nicely.
TE Hunter Henry (47.2%)
Henry has been Drake Maye's safety blanket for a while now, and with the Patriots taking on the Dolphins this week, the veteran tight end should eat. Miami has struggled to cover tight ends this year, as they've allowed 44 receptions for 448 yards and six touchdowns to them in 2026.
D/ST Jaguars 40%
Jacksonville's defense has been solid so far this year, scorrng around seven points a game, but in Week 8, they'll take on Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts, who have been sturggling this year. That should give them an opportunity to put up double-digit points this week.
