The Miami Dolphins have lost their first four games of the 2026 season and have been outscored 101-46 in those matchups to start the Jeff Hafley Era in South Florida.
While the Dolphins are a very young team filled with rookies or players on short-term deals, they still have some talented veterans who the team is planning to build around going forward, including linebacker Jordyn Brooks.
Brooks, an All-Pro selection in 2025, is playing in his seventh season in the league and on his second team, so he knows what the grind of a year is like, and he knows how the Dolphins can learn to win.
"You get tired of losing," Brooks told reporters in the locker room after Sunday's loss. "You get tired of losing, man. I think that feeling of losing is gonna
drive us a little bit to be better during the week of preparation. Any little thing in there that we can do to tighten up our games as individuals and as a whole to come out of here with a [win]."
Miami's offense was abysmal in Week 4, as Malik Willis completed just 52.9% of his passes for 85 yards without a touchdown. That type of ineptitude on that side of the ball can't persist for an entire year, and the sheer number of penalties can't either.
The Dolphins need to take on Brooks' mindset and fix these problems if they want to win any games this year. They're set to take on the 2-2 Cincinnati Bengals, who just lost Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to injuries this week. This could give Miami a chance to finally get one in the win column but only if they lock in.
