The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs will meet on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium for Miami's home opener after two losses on the road to start the season.
Before the game, the Dolphins can elevate up to two players from their practice squad to participate in this week's contest, and on Saturday, they've decided to call up defensive end Clelin Ferrell and linebacker Liam Anderson.
Ferrell, 29, has appeared in two games for the Dolphins this season, recording three total tackles while playing 27% of their defensive snaps. Prior to joining the Dolphins, he had stints with the Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers.
Anderson, 26, played for the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals over his first
three years in the NFL. He joined the Dolphins practice squad and was signed to the active roster for last week's game, when he recorded his first career tackle.
Every player on Miami's practice squad can only be elevated three times in a season. This is Ferrell's third and final, while Anderson has two more.
