Last week, against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins lost running back De'Von Achane for the remainder of the 2026 season to a torn ACL, leaving the team with just Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II as the healthy backs on the 53-man roster.
However, on Saturday, the Dolphins signed Carlos Washington Jr. to their roster from their practice squad for more depth on game days, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.
Washington, 27, played at New Hampshire from 2017-21 and at Southeastern Louisiana in 2022. Between the two schools, he rushed for 2,465 yards and 25 touchdowns on 4.9 yards per attempt. He also caught 86 passes for 608 yards and two touchdowns.
After going undrafted, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 and spent
the last three years there, but he only appeared in two games and never touched the ball. In nine preseason games in his career, he's rushed for 181 yards and two scores on an abysmal 2.4 yards per carry.
