The Miami Dolphins are traveling North this weekend for an interconference meeting with the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
While the Dolphins are looking to earn their first win of the season, they've elevated a pair of players from their practice squad on Saturday: defensive lineman Mazi Smith and defensive end Rodney McGraw.
Smith, 25, played at Michigan from 2019-22, earning All-Big Ten honors in his final season. The New York Jets took him in the first round (No. 26 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. However, just a few years later, they traded him to the New York Jets in the Quinnen Williams deal. He has 57 tackles, six quarterback hits and two sacks in his career.
McGraw, 24, played at Penn State (2021-22), Louisville
(2023) and Western Michigan (2024-25). He recorded 65 tackles (11 for a loss), eight sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one pass defensed. Miami signed him as an undrafted free agent this offseason.
Players can be elevated from the practice squad up to three times in a year. This is the first elevation for both players, meaning they have two more.
