The Miami Dolphins got one of their best young defensive players back at practice this week, and now he's set to make his season debut, as the Dolphins activated defensive lineman Kenneth Grant from injured reserve.
Grant, 22, was Miami's first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Michigan, where he earned All-Big Ten honors twice and All-American honors once. He also won a national championship.
As a rookie, Grant played 52% of the team's defensive snaps in 17 games. He finished with 33 tackles, five quarterback hits, two sacks and a pass defensed. Now, he'll retake his starting spot next to Zach Sieler in the middle of Miami's defensive line.
To make room for Grant, the Dolphins released quarterback Brady Cook, who has been a healthy scratch
for the first four weeks after the Dolphins claimed him off waivers from the New York Jets. There's a chance that Miami gets him back on the practice squad in a few days if he passes through waivers this time.
