The Miami Dolphins have a new regime and new quarterback in town for their 2026 campaign, but a few of their old quarterbacks are looking to start for other teams this year, including Jacoby Brissett with the Arizona Cardinals.
While Brissett has been looking for a new contract all offseason from the Cardinals, he reported for training camp on Thursday and will be practicing with the team as the two sides continue to discuss a deal.
Brissett was a third-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2016 but was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2017. After four seasons, he spent 2021 with the Dolphins. He completed 62.7% of his passes for 1,283 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions while leading the team to a 2-3 record.
Since then, Brissett
has played for the Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders and Patriots again before landing with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025 on a two-year, $12.5 million contract. He started most of the season for an injured Kyler Murray, who left for a job with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason.
As the presumed starter for 2026, Brissett wants more money, and he probably deserves it after completing 64.9% of his passes for a career-high 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions last year.
