With the Miami Dolphins having a young, inexperienced roster and both a new front office and a new coaching staff in 2026, most expect the team in South Florida to finish somewhere near the bottom of the league this year.
Knowing that, there's good reason to focus on the players that will be available in the 2027 NFL Draft, especially near the top of the first round. That's why new Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is the lone general manager attending a key college football matchup on Saturday between Texas and Ohio State, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
In this showdown, there are several top prospects set to participate, including wide receiver Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State and quarterback Arch Manning, wide receiver Cam Coleman,
edge rusher Colin Simmons and offensive tackle Trevor Goosby.
Miami will likely be looking for a quarterback, wide receiver and edge rusher early next year, so it's smart for Sullivan to get his own eyes on these guys early in the season, while he'll surely have other scouts watch them throughout the year.
If someone impresses Sullivan enough on Saturday, the general manager could have their name circled as a target in the first round of the draft in April.
