After theMiami Dolphins fell to the New England Patriots 24-19 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, Jeff Hafley's team is turning the page to Week 9, as they'll take on the Detroit Lions next Sunday.
On Monday, Hafley fielded questions from reporters in one of his weekly media availabilities, and throughout the session, the coach provided some updates on injured Dolphins before the team gets back on the practice field..
Left guard Kadyn Proctor began feeling concussion symptoms after Miami's Week 7 win over the New York Jets. After landing in concussion protocol, he missed the game against the Patriots, and according to Hafley, the first-round pick is still progressing through protocol.
Jarrett Kingston started at left guard in Proctor's spot in Week
8 and could do so again in Week 9 if necessary.
Hafley also discussed the potential of cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. and linebackers Trey Moore and Ronnie Harrison Jr. returning from PUP/injured reserve.
"I would say Baker probably has the best chance out of all three [to get back this week] that you mentioned," Hafley said. "If today is Monday, I would say Baker has the best chance, but I couldn't tell you yes or no...
"Trey's doing good. Do I think he's going to be back this week or next week? I don't, but we'll see how he progresses. I'm still hopeful that we'll get him for some part of this season, to get a young guy on the field and see what he can do."
Harrison has been on injured reserve since Week 2, after he aggravated a hamstring injury in Miami's season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders. Moore, one of the Dolphins' fourth-round picks, suffered an ankle injury in the preseason meeting with the New York Giants. He had surgery not long after.
