The Miami Dolphins will fly to Paradise, Nevada, this weekend to take on the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon, and while this game won't be easy, it won't be as difficult as originally thought.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter
, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has undergone a meniscus trim this week after suffering an injury during training camp and is now expected to miss at least one game.Bowers, 23, was a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Georgia that saw him earn All-SEC honors thrice and All-American honors twice. He also won two national championships and two John Mackey Awards.
In two seasons with Las Vegas, he caught 176 passes for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns while breaking
the rookie record for receptions (112) and the rookie tight end record for receiving yards (1,194).
In his lone appearance against the Dolphins in 2024, he caught a career-high 13 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown.
Now, Miami's linebackers and safeties won't have to worry about one of the best tight ends in the league. In stead, they'll probably focus on running back Ashton Jeanty, as Las Vegas' top offensive weapon in Week 1.
