The Miami Dolphins fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 31-24 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, dropping them to 0-5 to start their season and Jeff Hafley's tenure as head coach.
Miami struggled in all three phases of this game, which has been a consistent problem for them throughout the year. They probably won't win any games if they play that way.
Before we move on to Week 6, let's give out some credit and criticism to those who deserve it.
STUD: RB Ollie Gordon II
Gordon has been impressive while filling in for De'Von Achane, who tore his ACL early in the year. On Sunday, he rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on 4.9 yards per attempt. That's an impressive showing, considering Miami couldn't do much through the air.
DUD: QB Malik Willis
Speaking of the problems in the air, Willis completed just
55.6% of his passes for 137 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. While he ran for 74 yards, he also fumbled the ball away on Miami's final possession.
STUD: WR Malik Washington
In an ugly game, it's hard to find much to be happy with, but Washington led the team in receiving, as he caught six of his eight targets for 43 yards. He also had a pretty strong punt return from the team's 2-yard line.
DUD: Special teams
The Dolphins surrendered an 81-yard return on the opening kickoff, had a few penalties in the third phase and missed an extra point on their final touchdown in the fourth quarter. These problems have persisted all year. They need to fix these dumb mistakes.
