With just a few days to go before the NFL's deadline to cut rosters down to 53 players, the Miami Dolphins likely have a strong idea of who will be on the team for Week 1.
It appears that wide receiver Tutu Atwell wouldn't have made it, as ESPN'S Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that Miami traded one of their most interesting free agent signings back to the Los Angeles Rams.
In exchange, the Dolphins received running back Jarquez Hunter.
Atwell joined Miami on a one-year deal this offseason after spending his first five years in Los Angeles, and while he was expected to be one of their top options at the position, the trio of drafted rookies appeared to pass over him. This made him expendable.
Miami needed depth at running back with no one separating
themselves in the battle to backup De'Von Achane.
Enter Hunter, who rushed for 3,371 yards and 25 touchdowns on 6.3 yards per attempt and caught 68 passes for an additional 558 yards and four touchdowns in five years at Auburn.
The Rams took him in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft, and as a rookie, he appeared in five games playing just 22 snaps all on special teams.
