The NFL trade deadline is less than a week away, and the Miami Dolphins have yet to make a move to acquire a player or send one out since 53-man rosters were set at the end of August. However, an AFC team just traded for one of their former players.
According to NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the Baltimore Ravens are acquiring quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. Baltimore lost Lamar Jackson and Tyler "Snoop" Huntley to season-ending injuries last week.
Brissett, 33, played for the Dolphins in 2021 after stints with the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. With Miami, he appeared in 11 games and started five while leading the team to a 2-3 record and completing 62.7% of his passes for 1,283 yards, five touchdowns
and four interceptions.
Since then, Brissett went to the Cleveland Browns, the Washington Commanders and back to New England before landing in Arizona in 2025. This year, he was the team's starting quarterback in Week 1, but they benched him in Week 8 in favor of Gardner Minshew II.
After Baltimore's Thursday night game, the trade will be finalized (provided all of the medicals check out). At that point, Brissett will join Joe Fagnano and Kedon Slovis on the active roster. The Ravens also have Austin Reed on their practice squad.
