The Miami Dolphins will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Hard Rock Stadium in their home opener on Sunday afternoon, but they will be without one of their top offensive players for this AFC matchup.
Speaking with the media on Friday, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley revealed that rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas will miss Sunday's game due to the ankle injury that he suffered in the fourth quarter of their game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Douglas, 23, is one of three wideouts that the Dolphins took in the 2026 NFL Draft. In Week 1, he showed out, catching five passes for 94 yards. He was a bit quieter in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, catching just two of three targets for 19 yards.
Without Douglas, Miami may have to rely on Malik
Washington, Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman Jr., Jalen Tolbert and Ryan Miller (also battling an injury). They also have Jalen Reagor, Will Sheppard and AJ Henning on the practice squad.
