The day after the Miami Dolphins win over the New York Jets in Week 7, left guard Kadyn Proctor reported concussion symptoms, which landed him in the league's protocol and kept him from playing against the New England Patriots.
Proctor returned to practice this week, and on Friday, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley announced that their top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft has cleared protocol and will play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
The 21-year-old has played pretty well through the first six games of his professional career, despite moving from tackle to guard while adjusting to the speed and strength of players at the NFL level. Pro Football Focus has him as the 31st guard in the league of 75 that qualify with a 64.8 overall grade. He's also
26th in run blocking with a 67.1 grade.
Jarrett Kingston did his best in Proctor's place against the Patriots, but the team did struggle running the ball. They're hoping that Proctor's return helps Ollie Gordon II find success on the ground again in Week 9.
