The Miami Dolphins took on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium for an interconference battle in Week 4, and Jeff Hafley's team was handed a 15-10 loss.
This was probably the toughest loss that the Dolphins have suffered this season, considering how poor Minnesota's offense looked for most of this contest. And now that they're 0-4, Miami will have to take on the Cincinnati Bengals
next week. Before we get there, let's look at some of the studs and duds from this loss.
STUD: RB Ollie Gordon II
With De'Von Achane out, the Dolphins split carries between Gordon, Jaylen Wright and Malik Washington. Gordon got the most work and had the most productive day, as he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 11.1 yards per attempt. That included a 53-yard run.
DUD: Football IQ (and Patrick Paul)
Miami
didn't play smart football for most of this game, and they were penalized for many of their mistakes. In fact, the Dolphins had 10 flags thrown on them. Nine were accepted for 55 yards. Left tackle Patrick Paul was called for holding three times.
STUD: WR Malik Washington
The MW2 connection seems to be healthy, as Malik Willis and Malik Washington hooked up five times for 67 yards. Kevin Coleman Jr. was the only other wide receiver with a catch, and he hauled in just one.
DUD: RB/KR Jaylen Wright
Wright didn't do much in the running game, as he rushed for just seven yards on five attempts. He also struggled returning kicks, as he muffed two kickoffs. Miami can't overcome these special teams mistakes, and they continue to happen.
STUD: Pass rush
The Dolphins entered this game as the only team in the NFL without a sack. However, in Week 4, they turned up the pressure. They had eight total quarterback hits and sacked Kyler Murray four times. Zach Sieler had two sacks; Joshua Uche and Chop Robinson both had one each. Robinson also finished with three quarterback hits.
STUD: LB Jacob Rodriguez
It's hard to express just how impressive Rodriguez has been in the middle of Miami's defense. He finished this game with 18 tackles, which is the most by a rookie in Dolphins history and is tied for the fourth-most by any player in Dolphins history.
