The Miami Dolphins are down a linebacker heading into Week 2, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Kyle Louis suffered an MCL sprain in the team's Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to Rapoport, Louis is expected to miss a few weeks.
The 22-year-old played at Pittsburgh from 2022-25, earning All-ACC honors twice and All-American honors once. Miami took him in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Throughout training camp, Louis earned a role as a depth linebacker and safety.
Without him, Miami will have to rely on Jordyn Brooks, Jacob Rodriguez, Willie Gay Jr. and Jackson Woodard at linebacker, and at safety, they'll have to roll with Zayne Anderson, Michael Taaffe, Dante Trader Jr. and Julius Wood.
The Dolphins
also have linebackers Amari Gainer and Liam Anderson, and safety Major Burns, on the practice squad to call up if needed.
