The Miami Dolphins have been playing with a very young secondary through the first eight weeks of their 2026 campaign, with Dante Trader Jr. and Jason Marshall Jr. entering the league last year and Chris Johnson and Michael Taaffe joining them this year.
Miami could use some veteran depth in the back end of Sean Duggan's unit, and while they're waiting for Darrell Baker Jr. to return from PUP, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley announced on Wednesday that isn't happening this week.
Baker, 28, entered the league as an undrafted rookie in 2022 after six years at Georgia Southern. Since then, he's had stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans over the last last four years, appearing in 51 games and recording 130 tackles,
19 passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
Miami signed Baker to a one-year deal this offseason, but he landed on PUP due to a lower-body injury, and due to that injury, he's missed half of this season already.
