What is the story about?

The Miami Dolphins brought in several veteran free agents this offseason, including offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer on a one-year deal.

Unfortunately, Salyer landed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this month, and now, the Dolphins are releasing Salyer with an injury settlement, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The 26-year-old was a national champion at Georgia before the Los Angeles Chargers took him in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft. In four years in Los Angeles, he appeared in 64 games and started 40.

Miami brought Salyer in to compete for a starting spot at guard this offseason, but after they took Kadyn Proctor in the first round, placed the rookie at left guard and flipped Jonah Savaiinaea to the right side, it moved Salyer to the bench.

Considering Miami's lack of depth along the line, they could look to bring Salyer back once he's healthy.
