While the Miami Dolphins appeared content with starting quarterback Malik Willis, they clearly weren't with their backups throughout training camp and the preseason, which resulted in several changes to the group.
Undrafted rookie Mark Gronowski, who played collegiately at Iowa and South Dakota State, spent most of his rookie offseason with the Dolphins, other than a nine-day stretch in early August. However, Miami waived the quarterback during roster cuts, signed him to their initial practice squad and released him again just a day later.
Now, according to KPRC2's Aaron Wilson, Gronowski is joining the Houston Texans practice squad. He'll serve as the team's third quarterback behind C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills.
The two-time FCS national champion
and one time FCS All-American completed 46.2% of his passes for 98 yards in his two preseason appearances with the Dolphins against the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.
