What is the story about?
The
Miami Dolphins visited the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, and Jeff Hafley's team walked out with a 35-13 loss, dropping to 0-2 on the season.
Miami was outperformed in all three phases this week, as their offense was stifled by San Francisco's defensive front, Brock Purdy carved up their defense and special teams woes crept up again.
Before we turn the page on this game, let's take a second to look at the snap counts on offense and defense.
Offense
- Caleb Douglas was the WR1 this week, outsnapping Malik Washington, who had 12 fewers snaps than he did in Week 1. Kevin Coleman got a few more opportunities (11 snaps) in this one, but he didn't make much of an impact.
- Will Kacamrek was used much more, doubling his snap count from 14 last week to 28 in Week 2.
- Ollie Gordon II and Jaylen Wright both had just four snaps last week, but Gordon got some more against the 49ers, especially with the game out of hand late.
Defense
- Dante Trader Jr. and Zayne Anderson swapped roles, as the former went from 32 snaps played to 40 in Week 2, while the later dropped from 53 in Week 1 to just 13 on Sunday. Julius Ward even got in the mex a bit.
- Malik Herring, Clelin Ferrell and Robert Beal Jr. all had similar snap counts without Chop Robinson playing the edge. Max Llewellyn played two snaps in his debut.
