The Miami Dolphins took a trio of wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Texas Tech's Caleb Douglas and Louisville's Chris Bell in the third round and Missouri's Kevin Coleman Jr. in the fifth.
Through training camp, the preseason and Week 1, Douglas has been the best of the bunch, as he made on spectaular 28-yard reception in the preseason and caught five passes for 94 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders last week.
While Douglas has been showing out, another one of his rookie wideouts has been happy to see it.
"Balled. He balled," Bell said of Douglas. "I've been saying that all training camp, all OTAs. I don't know. I just look at Caleb like I kinda see Caleb in me. [I'm] not saying as like an older guy, but because I'm a rookie and
he's a rookie, and he's putting on for the rookies. We have a lot of rookies. We have a young team, so just to see him putting on for the rookies, I love it.
"I can't do nothing but smile. I was telling him when he caught that pass against Washington in the preseason, I was just like "Bro, I'm so proud of you.' It's like I've known Caleb my whole life. Caleb and Kev, I was like 'Man, I'm proud of you.' I just can't wait to keep seeing him do his thing in the NFL, so I'm excited for that."
Bell missed most of the offseason while recovering from a otrn ACL that he suffered at Louisville, and while Jeff Hafley said he's not on a pitch count, it seems that they're easing him back into things. If Bell performs like he was before the injury with the Cardinals, Miami might have an interesting duo to build around at the position.
