The Miami Dolphins hosted the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium, and while Jeff Hafley's team was in search of their first win, they fell to Andy Reid's squad 24-10 in this Week 3 showdown.
Miami put just 10 points up on the board, which is their lowest output so far this season, but this felt like their best performance so far this year. However, it's important to remember that this a rebuilding team and the bar is very low.
As we examine the performances from Sunday's action, let's talk about the studs and duds from this game.
STUD: LB Jacob Rodriguez
Rodriguez continues to shine in the middle of the defense. He's only a rookie, but he's everywhere for Miami. The second-round pick finished this game with six tackles (three for a loss) and a remarkable
diving interception. He deserves plenty of recognition for his play.
DUD: DB Michael Taaffe
Taaffe didn't have many noticable plays in this game, but he was called for an illegal contact penalty early in the second quarter when he grabbed Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This negated Jordyn Brooks' sack that would've forced a field goal. Instead, it gave Kansas City a fresh set of downs and allowed Patrick Mahomes to hit Kenneth Walker III for a touchdown.
STUD: WR Chris Bell
With Caleb Douglas out, the Dolphins needed a wide receiver to step up, and Bell did just that. He finished with four receptions for 67 yards on seven targets. Hopefully this is just the start, and the rookie can build on this going forward.
DUD: Pass rush
Miami finished without a sack again on Sunday. They don't have a single sack this year, and they're the only team that can say that after three weeks. That's embarassing.
