The Falcons finally pulled together a great result and got their first win of the season on Thursday night in Green Bay. Given their previous two games, they weren’t given much hope against the Packers. Nonetheless, Atlanta got the job done in a dominant 35-14 victory.
There haven't been many studs for Falcons this season, while the duds have been plentiful. However, this week there were quite a few bright spots, and the uptick in studs reflects that.
Stud - HB Bijan Robinson
Once again, Bijan is the workhorse of this offense and each week he shows he can handle the load. Hopefully, it doesn’t become too much as the season progresses. Robinson was six yards shy of 200 and added two touchdowns for good measure. He also added another 19 yards as a pass catcher to go over
200 all purpose yards. Robinson stepped up early and helped settle Michael Penix Jr.
Stud - WR Drake London
Like Bijan, London himself was six yards shy of reaching 200 yards. The star wideout did this on nine receptions but unfortunately didn’t get to find the end zone, even though he was close twice. He showed again why he can be one of the league's premier receivers. He just needed a quarterback to help showcase his abilities.
Stud - CB CJ Henderson
With the Falcons missing A.J. Terrell due to a groin injury, cornerback CJ Henderson stepped up and had an electrifying night. He went after the football multiple times, punching the ball from receivers hands, and led the team in eight tackles. He had a very promising game and hopefully this trend continues, even when Terrell returns to the lineup.
Stud - QB Michael Penix Jr.
The night started rough with an interception after his first four plays, but he settled in fast and took the game into his hands as it progressed. He had excellent zip on his passes and gave his receivers great chances to make plays, in which they did. In another world, the Falcons are 3-0 with Penix this season, but in reality, the Falcons are a better football team today than they were the first two weeks. It’s a long season, but Penix gives them the best chance to win.
