After two disastrous games, the Atlanta Falcons will look to Michael Penix Jr. to right the ship this Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers. The third-year quarterback is officially good to go for Week 3, but the Falcons' season is hanging by a thread.
A loss would put the team in an 0-3 hole, and the schedule only gets tougher in the coming weeks. However, a win could potentially turn the entire season around for Atlanta.

Penix is no stranger to prime-time games, having led Washington to the National Championship
during his final year in college. The former first-round pick also guided the Falcons to prime-time wins over the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings last season.
"I'm very excited," Penix said of his return. "You know, obviously, excited to be able to be out there. I'm going to war with my brothers."
The Falcons quarterback also responded to the critics who felt he was healthy enough to play the last two weeks.

Falcons place A.J. Terrell on IR, sign DE Zach Harrison
The Falcons placed cornerback A.J. Terrell on the injured reserve list and signed defensive lineman Zach Harrison off of the practice squad in a corresponding transaction. Terrell is dealing with multiple injuries, including a groin issue, which caused him to miss most of Week 2.
Harrison, who was one of the surprise cuts at the 53-man roster deadline, now returns to the active roster in time for Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers. The former third-round pick was elevated from the practice squad in Week 2. Harrison should play an even bigger role in Week 3 with Samson Ebukam dealing with an injury.

Falcons set to poach DB off Eagles' practice squad, per report
The Falcons placed Terrell on IR list, but reinforcements are on the way. According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Falcons are expected to sign cornerback Robert Longerbeam off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad.
Longerbeam was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Rutgers, but he was placed on the injured reserve list and missed his entire rookie season. After being waived by the Ravens back in August, Longerbeam signed with the Eagles' practice squad.

Falcons injury report: Tua back in action
Tua Tagovailoa was a full participant after being limited on Monday. Tagovailoa has been dealing with an oblique injury since Week 1 and was inactive for Atlanta's first two games.
The Falcons listed nine players on their Tuesday injury report, but Samson Ebukam was the only player not to participate. Ebukam missed his second straight day of practice due to a hamstring injury. Check out the full Tuesday injury report below.
