The Atlanta Falcons waived undrafted wide receiver Vinny Anthony II and offensive lineman James Brockermeyer ahead of the NFL's 53-man roster deadline on Sunday evening. Both Anthony and Brockermeyer were training camp standouts.
Anthony made noise as a kick returner. He averaged 30 yards per kickoff return in the preseason opener against the Denver Broncos, and broke loose for a 52-yard return in Friday's preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins. According to ESPN's Marc Raimondi, Anthony will likely sign with the team's practice squad once cuts are complete.

Brockermeyer was another one of the Falcons' priority UDFA signings after the draft. The former Miami Huricanes standout showed some promise in camp as well. Offensive line coach Bill Callahan praised Brockermeyer after filling in for starting center Ryan Neuzil in camp.
"I'm really proud of the job he did today," Callahan said of Brockermeyer. "He had to step up and step in and take over the controls. He did a great job. He was like the air traffic controller today, so he landed all the planes safely, which was great."
The Falcons' roster has been trimmed down to 71 players with less than three hours until the 53-man deadline at 6 p.m. ET. Check out the full list of cuts and updated roster as it currently stands below.
