The Atlanta Falcons hosted defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell for a tryout on Tuesday afternoon, ESPN's Marc Raimondi reported. The former fifth-round pick began his career with the Denver Broncos in 2022, appearing in 14 games as a rookie.
Turner-Yell spent his entire career in Denver, contributing mostly on special teams. While the veteran safety made his first NFL start for the Broncos in 2025, that was his only appearance of the season. Turner-Yell has appeared in 31 games over the last four seasons, recording 43 tackles (32 solo) and two forced fumbles.
The 26-year-old has some similarities to Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels. Both former Oklahoma safeties were Day 3 draft picks with highly athletic traits. Perhaps the Falcons will
give Turner-Yell some time at linebacker in a similar role to hybrid S/LB Jammie Robinson.
The Falcons still have a practice squad spot available after signing Robinson to the 53-man roster last week, so don't be surprised to see Turner-Yell back in Atlanta for the team's Week 6 game against the Chicago Bears.
