The Atlanta Falcons are signing edge rusher Charles Snowden off of the Washington Commanders' practice squad, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The 28-year-old has appeared in 33 career games since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2021.
"The Falcons are signing edge Charles Snowden off the Commanders practice squad to their 53-man roster, source said," reported Rapoport. "With Washington this year, Snowden was with the Raiders the last three seasons."
The Falcons defense has been solid this season, even without starting edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. Nonetheless, the team could use some additional depth with a couple of guys banged up along the front seven.
Snowden has 67
career tackles (35 solo), 4.5 sacks, six passes defended and 11 QB hits over three NFL seasons. The 6-foot-6 pass rusher should provide some rotational value in Atlanta.
