The Atlanta Falcons only kept two running backs on their Week 1 roster and it came back to bite them on Tuesday morning. According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Dallas Cowboys have poached running back Tyler Goodson off of the Falcons' practice squad.
Goodson was Atlanta's No. 3 running back and appeared to be a roster lock heading into cut-down day. However, the Falcons' uncertainty at quarterback caused them to keep four to start the season. After one game, the QB situation is far from settled.
As for Goodson, he played more than well enough to make the team. In fact, the Falcons had to use Olamide Zaccheaus as their emergency third running back in Sunday's opener.
Goodson had 18 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown in three preseason games.
The former Colts running back had a 49-yard touchdown run against his former team in the Falcons' 34-6 blowout over Indianapolis in the second exhibition game.

The Falcons will likely sign someone to Goodson's vacated practice squad spot soon, and they still have one roster spot available. The team is also expected to put defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand on the injured reserve list, freeing up another spot on the 53-man roster.
Check out the team's updated practice squad, which currently sits at 15 players.
