The Atlanta Falcons filled their last open roster spot on Wednesday, signing cornerback Robert Longerbeam off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. Longerbeam gives the team more secondary depth following the loss of No. 1 cornerback A.J. Terrell.
A former sixth-round selection by the Baltimore Ravens in 2025, Longerbeam spent his entire rookie campaign on the injured reserve list. After being cut by the Ravens, Longerbeam landed with the Eagles' practice squad to begin the 2026 NFL season.
While the 25-year-old has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game, he recorded 26 tackles (19 solo), two interceptions and 1.5 sacks during his final season at Rutgers in 2024. At 5-11, 175 pounds, we expect Longerbeam to play primarily in the slot.
C.J. Henderson is expected to replace Terrell in Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers, but we wouldn't be surprised to see rookie Avieon Terrell help fill in for his older brother on the outside in Week 3.
