The Atlanta Falcons released linebacker Troy Andersen and signed wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson to their 90-man roster on Friday morning. Andersen, a former second-round pick, has been hindered by injuries for much of his career.
After appearing in all 17 games as a rookie in 2022, Andersen played in just two games in 2023 before tearing his pectoral and missing the rest of the season. Then in 2024, he injured his knee and landed back on the injured reserve list after seven games.
Andersen missed all of the 2025 season but was re-signed somewhat surprisingly over the offseason. The Falcons did not re-sign Kaden Elliss, so there was some thought that Anderson might carve out a role. Instead, the team has gone in a different direction.
Andersen
recorded 135 tackles (75 solo), one interception and one forced fumble in 26 games for Atlanta.
Wilkerson has only appeared in nine NFL games and hasn't played in a regular season contest since the 2024 season. The 29-year-old has six career catches for 60 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
He most recently played for the Buffalo Bills but was released back in January. Wilkerson can provide some special teams depth to a somewhat thin Falcons wide receiver room. Check out Atlanta's updated 90-man roster below.
