The Atlanta Falcons may be far better than we thought they were during the first two weeks of the season. After three games, we can now comfortably say that they have a respectable special teams unit, a feisty and underrated defense and an offense that finally found its footing with quarterback Michael Penix's return to the lineup last night.
Nobody is happier than stars Drake London and Bijan Robinson, who managed to pull off something no NFL teammates had since the Rams all the way back in 1976 - per Josh Kendall at The Athletic.
"London and Robinson became the first NFL teammates to each have more than 190 yards from scrimmage in a road game since the Rams’ Lawrence McCutcheon and Ron Jessie did it in 1976, according to the Associated Press."
Bananas.
What's even crazier is that afterwards London was frustrated that he didn't have more yards, claiming that he's still moving slow. You could see it on London's face on his last huge catch and run in Green Bay, believing that he should have scored on the play.
As for Robinson, he's now firmly established himself as not only the most-explosive running back in football - he may be the best prime-time performer in the entire league at any position.
That's bad news for the next two teams on the schedule. First, the Falcons will visit the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 4, followed by a home game against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
