The Atlanta Falcons are rolling into the 2026 season with one of the worst and definitely the weirdest quarterback situations in the NFL.
On the bright side, this is still a pretty talented team on both sides of the ball, especially after the late-breaking trade to bring in the Chicago Bears' stud defensive tackle Gervon Dexter.
The Falcons also have other stars up front and on the back end of their defense, a solid offensive line and one of the best offensive skill groups in football. According to a new list by ESPN ranking the top 100 players in the league, Atlanta has four players who made the cut. Here's who they are and where they ranked.
No. 14: RB Bijan Robinson
"Robinson is expected to be the focal point of the Falcons' offense... Not only
is he an explosive play waiting to happen as a runner, but he can also impact a game through the air. Robinson led the NFL in scrimmage yards (2,298) in 2025."
No. 68: WR Drake London
"The sure-handed stalwart missed five games last season due to injury, but he finished seventh in the NFL in yards per game (76.6). If the Falcons get consistent quarterback play, this could be a career year for London."
No. 74: RG Chris Lindstrom
"One of the best guards in the NFL year in and year out, Lindstrom is a key to the Falcons' rushing attack, led by running back Bijan Robinson. And Lindstrom is a plus pass blocker as well. He has been on the field for at least 96% of the Falcons' offensive snaps since 2020."
No. 99: S Jessie Bates III
"One of the premier ball hawks in the NFL, Bates has 27 interceptions and 11 forced fumbles (fifth most among defensive backs) since he entered the league in 2018. He's the unquestioned leader of the Falcons' defense and could be part of one of the best 2026 safety duos alongside Xavier Watts (five interceptions as a rookie in 2025)."
Looking ahead, the Falcons have a few other players who might make this list in the coming years. That includes Dexter, as well as edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce. You could also make a case that their always-underrated left tackle Jake Matthews should be here, too - although right now it's hard to supplant Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold in the last spot, fresh off winning a Super Bowl.
If Atlanta could just find a solution to the ongoing quarterback question, this team might have a window of their own in the coming years - but that solution has to come sooner rather than later.
