The Atlanta Falcons have filled one of their two remaining spots on the practice squad, signing rookie offensive lineman Josh Thompson to bring their total up to 15 players. Thompson, an undrafted free agent who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after draft, transferred from Northwestern to LSU for his final college season.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound guard still needs some polish but there's plenty to like about his game. Here's what Stormcloud's Ryan Watkins wrote about Thompson in his scouting reportahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
"Josh Thompson is a smooth, controlled interior lineman who wins with balance, timing, and functional strength rather than explosive traits. His positional mechanics are consistently clean and he moves well for his size;
he is measured in his releases but builds power through his reps and can grind open lanes with leg drive, which is well-suited to gap concepts."
The Falcons have one more spot left on their practice squad after signing linebacker Josh Woods to the 53-man roster on Monday evening. Woods replaced linebacker JD Bertrand, who was placed on the injured reserve list. Check out the Falcons' updated practice squad below.

Since it doesn't appear that anybody has claimed defensive end Zach Harrison off of waivers, we would not be surprised to see the former third-round pick take Atlanta's final practice squad.
