The Atlanta Falcons are off to a slow start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and things only seem to be getting worse. Rookie wide receiver Zachariah Branch suffered a hamstring injury and has officially been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game.
Branch, a third-round pick out of Georgia, won the team's starting kick returner job out of training camp and has been solid thus far. The rookie struggled has yet to carve out a role in the Falcons offense.
In seven games this season, Branch has just 10 catches for 64 receiving yards. He also has eight punt returns for 83 yards and 11 kickoff return for 291 yards.
With Branch out, the Falcons will look to veteran wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus to fill in as the return specialist. Zaccheaus appears
to be up for the challenge, returning his first kick for 37 yards in the second quarter.
