The Atlanta Falcons suffered their first notable injury of the 2026 NFL season in the first half of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand injured his knee in the second quarter and has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game, according to team reporter William McFadden.
Hand is a key depth piece along Atlanta's front seven and one of the few players who can play the nose tackle. We'll have to wait until Kevin Stefanski's post-game press conference for an update on Hand's status going forward.
The 30-year-old defensive tackle signed a one-year deal with the Falcons in free agency after the team lost David Onyemata to the Jets. Hand has appeared in 77 games (26 starts) over eight NFL seasons, recording
131 combined tackles and 6.5 sacks.
Check back for updates after Sunday's game in Pittsburgh. The Steelers currently hold a 13-7 lead over the Falcons midway through the second quarter.
