The Cleveland Browns signed former Atlanta Falcons tight end John FitzPatrick to their practice squad on Tuesday. FitzPatrick was selected by the Falcons in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
The 26-year-old recorded just one catch for 12 yards as a rookie and was later poached off of Atlanta's practice squad by the Green Bay Packers in the middle of his second season.
FitzPatrick carved out a small role with the Packers in his third year, finishing the 2025 season with a career-high 12 catches for 72 receiving yards in 15 games (four starts).
While the Packers did not re-sign FitzPatrick over the offseason, the young tight end will look to make the most of his chance in Cleveland. We'll see if he gets called up to the Browns'
53-man roster.
Back in Atlanta, the team hosted six players for tryouts on Tuesday - a group that included three running backs. Don't be surprised if the Falcons make a move since they have one practice squad spot available going into Week 4.
