The Atlanta Falcons made a change to their practice squad on Wednesday morning, officially signing running back Jam Miller and releasing Cash Jones in a corresponding move.
Miller was selected by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The former Alabama standout led the Crimson Tide with 504 rushing yards last season, while adding 19 catches for 109 receiving yards.
Over his four years at Alabama, Miller rushed for 1,596 yards and 13 touchdowns on 4.6 yards per attempt. Miller was released by the Patriots at the 53-man roster deadline in August, and now gets a second chance on Atlanta's practice squad.
Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Georgia who signed with the Falcons after the 2026 NFL Draft, played well in
the preseason but did not make the 53-man roster out of training camp. Atlanta kept just two running backs on the roster, which was a surprise to most.
We wouldn't be surprised if the team eventually adds Miller to the roster now that the quarterback situation has been stabilized.
