New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson will miss a second straight game after revealing that he has been dealing with a medical emergency.
On Friday, Henderson posted a statement on social media claiming that he "experienced an unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalization for several days."
When speaking with media members, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed that Henderson was out for Sunday's game against the Packers. He also shared his initial reaction to the second-year running back's post.
"I know that he is well-loved and respected on our football team. My support shows up in a lot of different ways in just trying to make sure that TreVeyon is cared for and that the
recovery plan is intact and that he's comfortable with it," said Vrabel. "...To support him the best way I know how is just to care for him, listen to him and do whatever we can to get healthy and get back and to help this football team and do what he loves."
The Patriots will have to lean on Corey Kiner as the No. 2 option in the offensive backfield behind Rhamondre Stevenson. Lan Larison is also expected to contribute as a change-of-pace option in the No. 3 role.
Green Bay has one of the best pass defenses in the NFL, which means the ability to run the football will be crucial to the Patriots opening up the passing attack.
