It was a combination of past, present and future with NFL legend Tom Brady meeting up with New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on the field before Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion shared brief words and a short embrace with one of his predecessors. Unlike the others, Maye looks like he has legitimate staying power.
This is only his third NFL season, and he already looks like one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL. He was second in MVP voting behind Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford last season, and he helped lead the Patriots to their first Super Bowl appearance since Brady was under center at quarterback.
Maye and Brady haven't had a chance to develop the sort of relationship
that fans want due to circumstances. Brady is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Outside of nostalgia and lifelong relationships built on camaraderie, nothing is currently tying Brady to the team.
However, it's always sure to grab national attention whenever he comes home, and there's an even bigger spotlight when he interacts with the next big thing in New England.

Brady is in Foxborough as part of the FOX broadcasting team to call Sunday's game between the Patriots and Packers.
It's the game of the week pitting Maye against Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Brady calling a game featuring two of the NFL's brightest quarterback talents—it doesn't get any better.
