Safety Craig Woodson gave a glowing review of quarterback Caleb Williams, as the New England Patriots get set to face the Chicago Bears on Thursday.
Williams was excellent in his return against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 on Sunday. He went 30-of-36 passing for 305 yards and one touchdown to help lift the Bears to a 31-23 victory. His ability to improvise off schedule makes him one of the more dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL.
“He can make plays with his arm, on the ground, he can throw the ball anywhere,” Woodson told reporters, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller. “He’s a great playmaker and you have to take that into account when you’re coming up with schemes to defend this guy."
The Patriots have gotten healthier on the defensive side of the ball.
Star cornerback Christian Gonzalez returned to the lineup in last week's win over the New York Jets and helped neutralize Garrett Wilson. The team also got veteran defensive tackle Christian Barmore back on the field next to Milton Williams.
On paper, it'll be one of the best matchups of the week in the league. But how will the short week and subsequent lack of rest impact the game?
All eyes will be on Chicago to find out on Thursday night.
