New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel discussed running back TreVeyon Henderson as a potential kick returner when he met with the media on Wednesday.
In the first seven games of the season, the Patriots have returned 29 kickoffs for 721 yards. They have averaged 24.9 yards per return and have not scored a touchdown.
The leading kick returners for the team have been wide receiver Kyle Williams and running back Corey Kiner. Williams has 18 returns for 432 yards this year with a 24.0-yard return average, while Kiner has nine returns for 240 yards and a 26.7-yard average. The Patriots could undoubtedly use a spark at the position, and it sounds like Vrabel is willing to explore every avenue to find it.
"That's probably something that we'll always
consider and weigh the options," Vrabel said, according to Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.

Henderson returned nine kickoffs for 209 yards, averaging 23.2 yards per return last season.
With Kiner filling in more at running back, one has to wonder if the Patriots would be more willing to include Henderson on special teams. The second-year running back has struggled to find consistency running the football on the ground this season.
Those struggles, combined with an ankle injury, have led to Kiner, who has been productive behind Rhamondre Stevenson, eating into Henderson's snaps in recent weeks.
