New England Patriots kicker Andy Borregales’ field-goal accuracy has become a concern through three weeks of play this season.
Borregales has made five field goals this season, but his conversion rate has fallen below the standard expected of an NFL kicker at 71.4 percent.
In 2025, Borregales made 27 of 32 field-goal attempts, good for an 84.4 percent success rate. He also showed range and reliability throughout his rookie season, going a perfect 4-for-4 from 50 or more yards out. He had a few kicks that he may have wanted to get back, which impacted his average.
Nevertheless, he provided the Patriots with a dependable option in scoring territory last season and established a promising foundation for his career, all while helping New England reach
the Super Bowl at the end of that season.
Borregales appeared to be primed to take another step forward entering this season. Instead, his early results have not yet reflected that anticipated progression.
The season remains young, and Borregales still has ample time to correct course. Still, the Patriots will need greater accuracy from him as they seek to avoid leaving valuable points on the field for the rest of the season.
