New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III’s spectacular one-handed touchdown catch from Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills has been featured as the header image of the NFL’s official X account, placing him in the national spotlight after the biggest play of his young career.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Chism recently touched on when he found out that the image was featured on the account.
“My girlfriend [Devynn] showed me, she sent it to me,” Chism said. “She was pretty happy about it. So kind of a cool moment for sure.”
Chism delivered the highlight with 1:50 remaining in the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills. Shortly after the two-minute warning, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye fired toward the end zone to Chism, who was closely
covered and unable to use his left arm effectively. He secured the pass with one hand for a 23-yard touchdown.
The touchdown plus the ensuing two-point conversion gave New England a 29-26 lead, and the Patriots held on for the road victory. The touchdown capped off a two-reception, 42-yard performance for Chism.
The NFL has 36.9 million followers on X. With all of the popularity that the league has and the scope of its social media presence, a great many people will have the opportunity to see the catch who may not have caught the game or seen the highlight reel.
