The New England Patriots will be without their star wide receiver once again.
On Friday, head coach Mike Vrabel revealed that A.J. Brown wasn't able to finish practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury, which led to him being absent on Thursday and Friday. He was listed as questionable, but before the team departed for Miami, he was downgraded to out.
“Everybody comes in and prepares as a starter. We’ve had to use guys from the practice squad, and if needed, we’ll have one of those guys ready,” Vrabel said. “I know that they all are. Whether that be somebody like Lan Larison or somebody that’s been on the offensive line that has to be ready to come up. We’ve seen that with defensive players. So that’s nothing new for us. And we’ll see where we’re
at tomorrow.”
This is certainly a concern as Brown has already missed four games this season after suffering an high ankle sprain during the season opener. And the Patriots are also without Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs, who are both on injured reserve.
With Brown out, Drake Maye's available receivers are Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas, and Efton Chism III, as well as practice squad wideout Ryan Miller, who was elevated for Sunday's game.
