FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – After five straight days of padded practices, the New England Patriots took things easy on Wednesday, conducting a walkthrough during the 10th training camp session, which was closed to the public. While there weren't any big plays, the practice did provide some interesting clarity into how the depth chart is shaping up.
Here are the takeaways from Day 10 of training camp:
1. Efton Chism running with the starters
With Romeo Doubs out, Efton Chism got increased opportunities, especially with Drake Maye and the starters. He shared the field with A.J. Brown and DeMario Douglas at times, signaling that he is high on the receiver depth chart. Plus, his ability to play special teams, specifically as a kick returner, makes him even more valuable to the team. As for Kyle
Williams, he spent the first part of team drills on the opposite field with Tommy DeVito.
2. Terrell Jennings vs. Lan Larison for RB3 spot
Throughout the first week of camp, it seemed that Lan Larison was in the lead to earn the No. 3 running back spot behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, but it seems that was only the case because Terrell Jennings started on the NFI List. Now that he has returned, Jennings served as the third back with the starters, while Lan Larison, Jam Miller, and Myles Montgomery took reps on the other field.
3. Rookie cornerbacks making early impression
Carlton Davis remains sidelined, which means Charles Woods has been filling in alongside Christian Gonzalez. But behind them, there have been some interesting developments as it looks like two rookies have made a strong impression. Behind Gonzalez and Woods, it was Karon Prunty and Channing Canada who spent time with the first-team defense. Prunty has been getting more involved and proving to be a disruptive player in some team reps, while Canada is also practicing as a kick returner.
4. TE C.J. Dippre activated off PUP list
Tight end C.J. Dippre has been a regular fixture at training camp practices this summer, but only from the sidelines as he was dealing with what looked like an arm or wrist injury. However, for the first time, he was on the field with the team in uniform for the walkthrough, signaling that he was activated off the PUP list.
5. Attendance

RETURNING: FB Reggie Gilliam, TE C.J. Dippre
PUP/NFI: ED Harold Landry III, S Brenden Schooler

- Will Campbell was spotted wearing a large brace on his left arm
- Chad Muma, Dell Pettus, Bradyn Swinson, Eric Gregory, Joshua Farmer, and Gabe Jacas all cycled in throughout the 11-on-11 sessions with the starters.
