The New England Patriots open the 2026 preseason action by hosting the Indianapolis Colts for a Week 1 matchup on Thursday.

Both teams met earlier in the week for a joint training camp practice on Tuesday. The team period featured one-on-one reps, 7-on-7s, 11-on-11s and red zone work with many of the starters in the lineup. It was one of the more competitive joint practices in recent memory with both teams looking to come out on top.

With the starters getting most of the reps at practice, the preseason game will mostly feature backups from both teams. For the Patriots, it will be veteran quarterback Tommy DeVito and rookie Behren Morton under center. It will also be the team's first chance to get a look at rookie offensive tackle Caleb Lomu, tight

end Eli Raridon and edge rusher Gabe Jacas in game action.
